The Winston-Salem Ski & Outing Club is a year-round skiing, outdoor activities and social club that includes singles, couples and families of all ages and interests located in Winston-Salem and surrounding area of North Carolina.

Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM. Our meeting place may vary from month-to-month. Check out this web site, or contact us for details.

This Month's Meeting

When: Thursday, May 17th @ 6:00 PM. Food service starts at 7:00 PM

Where: Tanglewood Park, Shelter #2

What: Picnic-social-meeting. We'll provide the burgers, dogs and beverages. Attendees are asked to bring a dessert or side dish to share.

Current Activites

Tuesdays, May 1st, 8th and 15th, 5:45 PM

Bike ride on the Salem Creek Trail to Linville Road and Back (cannot go all the way around the lake while the new path along Linville Road is under construction)

Meet at the tennis courts on Salem Avenue, near the Southern Roundabout.

Thursdays, May 10th and 31st, 6:00 PM

Walk on the New Greenway at Tanglewood Park

Left at the Lybrook Welcome Center, go 0.1 mile and park on the right in the new paved lot just before you get to the soccer fields.

Saturday, May 12th, 1:00 PM

Pat Lumsden will lead this hike on the Ledge Spring Trail and Jomeoke Trail at Pilot Mountain State Park. Total distance less than 3 miles; some parts easy, some a little strenuous. Meet at Sam's Club on University Parkway, near the gas pumps.

Sub & A Show Event, Wednesday, May 16th

W-SSOC will meet for dinner at Bob's Big Gas Pub & Subs, then walk next door to the Theatre Alliance and see the hilarious show, "Altar Boyz", on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. It's now past the deadline, but contact Jayne Warbinton, email jbfl9279@triad.rr.com, in case we have a vacancy.

Saturday, May 19th, 8:00 AM

Ken Lumsden will lead this wild flower hike. Tanawha-Nuwati-Crag Way at Grandfather Mtn State Park. Meet at Harris Teeter across from Tanglewood. Contact Ken ken@wssoc.org to arrange to hook up with us in Morganton.
